Sheriff’s Office Welcomes Four New Lateral Deputies
On May 7, 2025, Spokane County Undersheriff/Spokane Valley Police Chief David Ellis swore in four new Lateral Deputies at the Spokane County Sheriff’s Regional Training Center. Please help us welcome Deputy Zachary Clarkson, Deputy Matthew Meckley, Deputy Jesse Quinn, and Deputy Connor Telford and their families to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Zachary Clarkson is 34 and was born and raised in Tonasket, WA, graduating from Tonasket High School in 2008. After that, he attended Spokane Community College, earning an AA in Criminal Justice in 2012. Before accepting a position with our agency as a Lateral Deputy, he served as a Deputy with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Matthew Meckley is 38, was born in Seattle, raised in Lake Stevens, WA, and graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 2005. Afterward, he joined the United States Army and honorably served from 2005 until 2012, including two tours in Iraq. Since 2019, he served as a Deputy with the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, last assigned to their Pro-Active Policing Unit, prior to joining the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office as a Lateral Deputy.
Deputy Jesse Quinn is 33, was born in Dover, Ohio, and was primarily raised in Western Washington, graduating from Marysville Pilchuck High School in 2010. He studied for a year in Germany before attending Washington State University, where he earned a BA in Criminal Justice with a minor in German. He previously worked as a Corrections Deputy at the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office and since 2019, as a Deputy with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office before joining our agency as a Lateral Deputy.
Deputy Connor Telford is 35, was born and raised in Enumclaw, WA., and graduated from Snohomish High School in 2016. Before joining our agency as a Lateral Deputy, he served as a Deputy with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office since 2019.
