SCIU Detectives and SWAT Served a Search Warrant: Convicted Felon Suspect Arrested and Drugs/Guns/Cash/Gold-Silver Coins Seized

Spokane County Sheriff’s Investigative Unit (SCIU) Detectives, as part of a months-long investigation, arrested the suspect, a convicted felon, for several counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.  They recovered and seized a large amount of suspected Fentanyl, liquid Methadone, pills believed to contain Fentanyl, Drug Paraphernalia, multiple phones, almost $15,000 in cash, an estimated 15-20 thousand in silver and gold coins, three vehicles, three handguns, and several hundred rounds of ammunition.  They also contacted a second person, who was later arrested for unrelated misdemeanor warrants.     

On April 22, 2025, as part of a months-long drug investigation, Spokane County Sheriff’s Investigative Unit Detectives, with SWAT assisting, served a search warrant at a residence near N. Cincinnati Street and E. Everett Avenue.   

The suspect and multi-time convicted felon, 43-year-old Tamboura E. Simmons, was contacted and safely taken into custody for several counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance charges.  Simmons had previously been convicted for multiple felony counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Assault 3rd Degree, and several misdemeanor charges.

A second adult male, also a convicted felon, 33-year-old Jude M. Lesinski, was also contacted at the location and detained.  He was found to have several valid misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. 

Later in the day, SCIU Detectives served a second search warrant at a residence near S. Cuba Street and E. 26th Avenue.

 

This remains an active investigation, and additional charges/arrests are possible.  

 

During a search at the locations, SCIU Detectives seized:

 

  • 93 grams, approximately 3.2 ounces of suspected Fentanyl power
  • Five bottles of liquid Methadone
  • Pills believed to contain Fentanyl, approximately 100
  • $14,956 in cash
  • Silver-Gold Coins, estimated value of 15-20 thousand
  • Three vehicles 
  • Three handguns
  • Several hundred rounds of ammunition
  • 8 phones
  • Large amounts of drug paraphernalia (scales, plastic baggies, aluminum foil)

 

Simmons was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail on four felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.  He remains in custody on a U.S. Marshal Hold and a total bond of $5,000 set by Spokane County Superior Court Commissioner T. Rugel.   

Lesinski was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for several misdemeanor warrants for charges of Theft 3rd Degree (2 counts), Criminal Trespass 1st Degree, and No Valid Operator’s License 1st Degree with a total bond set at $2,250. However, per an agreement approved by the Municipal/District Court, these charges qualified him to be released on his own recognizance due to Critical Status (jail overcrowding/population), and he was soon released.
