Fatal Vehicle/Motorcycle Collision at Palouse Highway and Madison Road
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is investigating a vehicle/motorcycle crash at the intersection of E. Palouse Highway and S. Madison Road. The adult male rider of the motorcycle was severely injured, and despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On June 7, 2025, at approximately 7:50 pm, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported injury crash at the intersection of S. Madison Road and E. Palouse Highway involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
Spokane County Fire District 8 arrived and rendered medical aid to the severely injured motorcycle rider as the arriving Deputies began to investigate what caused this serious and potentially fatal collision.
The intersection was closed to all traffic with the assistance of Washington State Patrol and SIRT Team Volunteers.
Statements and evidence at the scene indicate the SUV, driven by an adult male, was traveling south on Madison and slowed as he approached the stop sign at the intersection with the Palouse Highway. The motorcycle was traveling west on the Palouse Highway when the SUV entered the intersection in front of the motorcycle, causing the crash.
The SUV driver told Deputies he did not see the motorcycle before the collision occurred.
Despite life-saving efforts, the motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The adult driver of the SUV and his adult female passenger were not physically injured.
Due to the seriousness of this collision, Traffic Unit Investigators responded to the scene to continue the investigation and determine the cause of this deadly traffic collision.
At this early stage of the investigation, impairment is not considered to be a factor.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the decedent, along with his cause and manner of death, when appropriate.
This remains an active investigation, and no arrests have been made.
