Deputies Respond to a Shooting, Possible Road Rage Incident

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a reported shooting near the 5000 block of E. 37th Avenue.  The adult female victim was not injured, but Deputies did observe damage to the victim’s passenger side door of her vehicle, believed to have been caused by a bullet.  The suspect was not located.

On June 16, 2025, at approximately 9:00 am, Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported shooting on E. 37th Avenue, east of S. Custer Lane.

The adult female victim stated she was not injured, but the passenger side door appeared to have been shot.  In a statement provided to Deputies, she explained that she was driving her green Toyota 4Runner, with a small 4-door, light-gray sedan in front of her, east on 37th Avenue from S. Regal Street.

As they approached the school, the sedan slowed to approximately 20 mph.  She thought the driver slowed because of the school zone, but the school zone sign was not flashing.  She did admit that she may have been driving a little too close to the sedan due to its slower speed.

Afterward, the sedan pulled over to the side of the road near S. Aldo Road, and as she passed, she observed the male driver pointing a handgun at her.  She continued driving and heard a noise on the passenger side of her vehicle but believed it might have been a BB gun as the noise didn’t seem very loud.

She eventually pulled over and stopped when she noticed the sedan was not following her, and she felt it was safe.  She checked her vehicle and found what appeared to be a bullet hole in the passenger side door of her SUV.

She described the male suspect as white, approximately 30-40 years old, heavy-set, with dirty blonde, semi-long hair, and wearing dark clothing.  She continued, saying he was driving a small 4-door, light-gray sedan with Washington license plates.

Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect or his vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or who can help identify the suspect is urged to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference #10081460.
